Police investigating viral teacher 'grooming' student case

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed receiving a report of a female teacher who allegedly groomed her Form Five student.

Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof when contacted today said the report was lodged by a family member of the boy.

"The case is still under investigation, with the case being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act," he said briefly.

Earlier, the boy's relative, believed to be his sister, shared the incident on X (formerly Twitter).

In a series of posts, which had since been deleted, she claimed that the teacher had been meeting her brother, despite being asked not to do so.

The sister said she had no choice but to use the power of going viral as the family no longer can stand the teacher's attitude.

She also claimed that although the teacher was transferred to another school, the teacher and her brother still communicated with each other and had secretly met recently.

New Straits Times has reached out to the Education Ministry for comment and awaiting reply.
