KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) welcomes the government's decision to allocate resources to opposition representatives.
However, opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said it will make a decision after carefully examining the conditions in the draft of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) being prepared by the government.
Earlier today, the unity government secretariat's top leadership said it decided in principle to consider allocating funds for opposition members of Parliament (MPs).
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said in its meeting held at Seri Perdana complex yesterday afternoon, the secretariat had agreed to prepare a memorandum of understanding draft, which would be presented to the opposition for negotiation.
"This matter was agreed upon in a meeting that lasted over an hour, chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and attended by top leaders of the component parties of the unity government," he said in a statement.
