KLIA shooting suspect's wife grateful bodyguard has regained consciousness

KUALA LUMPUR: The wife of the suspect in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) shooting, who was also the intended target, has breathed a sigh of relief after her personal bodyguard regained consciousness.

Farah Md Isa, also known as Farah Cie, in a Facebook post, requested the public to send their prayers to her bodyguard Muhammad Nur Hadith Zaini, 38, affectionately known as Along.

She added that she would hold an emergency donation drive to assist Along's family.

She said she had met his wife, Siti Noraida Hassan, 38, a few days ago when he was still unconscious.

"For everyone's information, Along has been my main personal guard in ensuring my safety since the beginning. He has three children, and is expecting a fourth.

"Along values family ties and is an individual who always cares deeply about his family," she said.

Farah said Along, who is the eldest of seven siblings, works diligently to support his family and is very supportive of his wife.

Additionally, she said, Along also has a disabled son, known as Adam.

"Normally, Along would bathe his son. When Along fell ill, his wife couldn't manage to lift Adam, who is now 13 years old.

"When Along's wife went to the hospital, her mother would take care of the children at home," she said.

Yesterday, Along regained consciousness after successful surgery but is still in the intensive care unit.

Along underwent surgery on his intestines on April 16.

In the 1.20am incident on Apr 14, a man fired two shots at his wife at the entrance of the arrival hall but missed, with one of the shots hitting the Muhammad Nur Hadith, who was one of her two bodyguards.

The suspect fled in a car parked at level two of Block C but was detained by police the next day in Kelantan.
