SHAH ALAM: National footballer Faisal Halim was splashed with concentrated sulphuric acid, causing him to suffer fourth-degree burns to several parts of his body, including his face.
Selangor FC chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon said this to reporters when he visited Faisal at a private hospital, today.
Johan also said that Faisal was conscious but the injuries on his body were quite critical.
He said medical experts are expected use a special medication from Australia to help him recover from his injuries.
"The condition of his injuries is quite serious. He is conscious but his body is in a bad condition.
"The acid that was splashed on Faisal was concentrated sulphuric acid," he said, asking people to pray for the player's well-being.
Johan added that the 26-year-old player will undergo another surgery today.
