KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur City Hall through the National Landscape Department has carried out the cutting of an old tree on Jalan Lembah today.
The operation, which began at 10 am, concluded in the afternoon.
The tree, estimated to be 45 years old, was identified as high-risk following several tree-falling incidents reported in the city.
On May 7, a motorist was killed after an uprooted tree fell on his car at Jalan Sultan Ismail.
The deceased, a 47-year-old male, was confirmed dead by paramedics at the scene.
On May 13, heavy rains and wind led to another tree falling, damaging a police vehicle that was escorting Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh's convoy.
