Disclose DRT contract, details of decisions, Pua tells Selangor govt [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: A former DAP member of Parliament has urged the Selangor government to disclose details of contracts awarded to a company linked to Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh's husband.

In a Facebook post, Tony Pua said these details include minutes and decisions relating to the demand-responsive transit (DRT) pilot project contract, the contract with Asia Mobiliti, and the contract performance.

This comes amid reports that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is probing the awarding of the Selangor government contract to Asia Mobiliti following "new leads".

Yeoh's husband Ramachandran Muniandy is Asia Mobiliti CEO and co-founder.

In his post, Pua said Asia Mobiliti has expertise in DRT and even won awards for its applications.

He also said that the company had been pre-qualified by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and that the Selangor government awarded contracts to the two qualified companies.

On what Yeoh should do, Pua said she should confirm that she has no involvement in her husband's business.

"(She also needs to) confirm that she has no influence or attempted to exert any influence in the Selangor administration

"(And) declare she is more than happy for MACC to carry out their investigations and (that she is) ready to cooperate fully.

"Then she should move on and continue with her exemplary good work. The rest is not in her hands."

Previously, Selangor Investment, Trade and Mobility exco Ng Sze Han defended the appointment of Asia Mobiliti as one of two companies selected for the state's DRT pilot project.

He said APAD approved the company's participation in the proof of concept testing process for the project.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has said he would leave it to the authorities to probe the matter and that investigations must be transparent.
