94 tertiary students get financial assistance from LTAT [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin presided over a ceremony to present assistance for public institutions of higher learning and overseas universities at the auditorium of Wisma Pertahanan here today.

Eighty-four students from public institutions of higher learning were awarded incentives of RM1,000 each, while 10 students studying abroad received RM2,000 each.

According to a statement from the ministry, this gesture underscored the Armed Forces Fund Board's (LTAT) commitment to safeguarding the educational pursuits of the children of army personnel through existing support programmes.

It added that between 2001 and 2023, LTAT contributed to the educational journeys of 2,247 tertiary students, amounting to RM2,369,000.

"LTAT will shoulder the responsibility of organising educational development initiatives capable of providing a 'multiplier effect' in nurturing competitive human capital in line with the national educational aspirations," the ministry said.
