Two teenagers admit committing mischief by hurling flower vase at Serdang police station

KUALA LUMPUR: Two teenagers arrested for allegedly hurling a flower vase towards a fence of the Serdang police station last week pleaded guilty to committing mischief when they were charged at the Petaling Jaya magistrate's court today.

The young offenders, both 17, admitted committin gthe offence when they were jointly charged before magistrate Farah Azura Mohd Saad during closed-door proceedings.

The charge read that they had committed mischief by damaging a man's Proton Saga parked in front of the station causing losses of RM500.

They committed the offence at 6.30am on June 2.

The offence under Section 427 of the Penal Code carries imprisonment of not less than one year and not more than five years with a fine or both.

The court set Aug 8 for sentencing after obtaining the teenagers' moral report from the Welfare Department.

Deputy public prosecutor Nur'ain Madihah Zulkifli prosecuted while counsel Muhammad Amirul Mukminin Mohd Sufian stood for the duo.

On June 5, Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner A. A. Anbalagan said the two teenagers, a student and an unemployed youth, were arrested at Taman Serdang Jaya in Seri Kembangan at 4pm on June 2.
