GUA MUSANG: Frozen pigs were scattered on the road in Kampung Kuala Tool, leaving about 1,000 residents shocked after the truck carrying them was involved in an accident.
In the 7am incident, the truck carrying about 50 frozen pigs was involved in an accident after its left wall detached.
Checks at the scene revealed that five Orang Asli living near the area were removing the frozen pigs.
As of 4pm today, the task of removing the pigs had not yet been completed.
Muhammad Ikhwan Mahmood, 22, a resident of Kampung Kuala Tool, said he was informed that the incident happened around 7am.
He said the early morning incident shocked the village residents, causing feelings of nausea among them.
"I was informed by those who were cutting grass by the roadside that when they arrived at the scene, the accident had already occurred, and the pigs were already scattered on the road.
"It is estimated that there were nearly 50 frozen pigs in the truck, and I was told that the driver did not suffer any injuries," said Muhammad Ikhwan, who lives about 10 metres from the scene.
Meanwhile, Muhamad Aiman Yaacob, 25, said he was shocked to see the frozen pigs scattered on the road when he arrived at the scene.
"Until this afternoon, the task of removing the frozen pigs was still being carried out by several Orang Asli residents.
"I hope immediate action can be taken to remove the frozen pigs and clean the area to prevent foul odors.
"This is the first incident to occur on the Gua Musang-Jeli route near Kampung Kuala Tool," he said.
Meanwhile, Gua Musang district police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said his department had not received any reports regarding the incident.
