KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has condemned the brutal attack and raid by the Israeli army on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, which killed more than 270 innocent Palestinians, and injured over 600 others.
In a statement, Wisma Putra said the act, which was carried out while the ongoing peace negotiations between the conflicting parties continue, only reflects the insincerity of the Israeli regime.
It urged the international community to exhaust all available avenues to bring an end to the conflict and prevent the loss of more lives.
"These continued attacks by Israel on civilians are tantamount to war crimes and genocide, making a mockery of international law and international humanitarian law.
"Israel's leadership must be held accountable for its illegal occupation of Palestinian Territories and its continued disregard for human lives.
"Nothing justifies the indiscriminate killing and targeting of places of refugees. Despite the repeated calls and pleas by the international community and humanitarian agencies to end the killings, Israel continued launching such attacks without fear nor remorse and led to the total and continued disregard for humanity with the latest being one of the worst single deadliest operations against Palestinians," it said.
It added that Israel's incessant bombardment and ground offensive have killed 37,084 Palestinians, most of whom were women and children, and left countless more wounded in the past 247 days.
