KUALA LUMPUR: The Tourism, Arts, and Culture Ministry has suspended Pasadana Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd's licence for eight months and 12 days, starting Apr 20 until Dec 31.
The ministry said the decision was made in accordance with Section 8(1)(b) of the Tourism Industry Act 1992, as the licensed tourism operator had violated terms set under the licence and provisions of the Act.
"During the suspension period, the company is not allowed to conduct any new business, such as advertising Umrah packages or taking on new clients.
"Additionally, the company is required to return all payments and documents belonging to Umrah pilgrims who had chosen to cancel their bookings with the company and reschedule their delayed flight," it said in a statement.
It said any breach of the conditions by the company could result in the revocation of its licence, with no possibility of renewal once the licence period expired.
