SLIM RIVER: A man is "traumatised" after receiving over 100 calls from unknown numbers between 2pm and 6pm yesterday (June 11).
The man, known as Kamarul, 45, said that the phone calls from different numbers came one after another, disrupting his daily routine.
He initially thought that the calls were wrong numbers or emergency calls from family members.
"I managed to answer some of the calls and most of the callers claimed that I had called them first.
"I was surprised because I had never contacted those numbers, nor sent any SMS messages," he said.
Kamarul said all the numbers were new and not in his contact list.
"Every minute, the phone rang non-stop as if I were working as a phone operator.
"Every caller insisted that I had called their number first.
"Every time I answered the call, I had to explain that my phone was possibly hacked," he said.
Following the incident, he went to the telephone network service centre for further assistance.
He said the staff at the centre told him that his mobile phone was likely hacked and assured him that they would resolve the problem as soon as possible.
