JOHOR BARU: The leak of investigation papers apparently related to Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin's murder will be investigated by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and police.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the unauthorised dissemination of what is believed to be the case's investigation papers on Telegram was inappropriate.
"The case has garnered public attention. Those who shared or are circulating these investigation papers of undetermined authenticity need to be held accountable, as the case is currently before the court," he told a media conference after a dialogue held with the Pulai parliamentary madani community, here, today.
"The dissemination of these documents, which contain sensitive details about the investigation, could undermine the judicial process and lead to widespread misinformation."
Fahmi said the public should allow the court and the police to conduct their duties without interference from public speculation or unauthorised disclosures.
"The case is now in the hands of the court, and it is imperative that all parties respect this process.
"We understand the public's concern and desire for justice. However, we must refrain from making premature judgments or speculations that could influence or impede the proceedings."
He also advised the public to avoid spreading unverified information related to the case.
