100,000 applications for diesel subsidy cash aid approved

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has approved 100,000 applications for the targeted diesel subsidy cash aid under the Budi Madani initiative, private owners of diesel vehicles (Budi Individu) as well as farmers and smallholders (Budi Agri-Komoditi).

A total of 30,000 applicants had received the cash aid on June 10, followed by 46,000 others who received the aid today. Those who apply before the end of June will receive the aid in early July.

Announcing this today, Finance Minister II, Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said the targeted diesel subsidy scheme is geared towards providing aid to qualified sectors as well as to segments of community who need it most.

"The monthly RM200 cash aid is to help with the additional cost of purchasing diesel for 80 per cent of owners of private diesel vehicles.

"I appeal to Malaysians who qualify to quickly register to get the diesel cash aid for June. The government remains committed to channeling the Budi Madani aid in the same month the application is made," he said in a statement.

Applicants who qualify for the aid will receive RM200 a month in their bank accounts. They can also withdraw the aid at any Bank Simpanan Nasional counter.

The Budi Madani initiative, which began on May 28, serves as a platform to distribute targeted diesel subsidy cash aid to owners of diesel vehicles under several categories, namely Budi Individu and Agri-Komoditi.

Unsuccessful applicants can review their applications and submit an appeal at the Budi Madani website https://budimadani.gov.my.

Farmers and smallholders who have yet to register under the relevant ministries' agencies are advised to do so first, before submitting their application via the website.
