KENINGAU: A motorcyclist died and a pillion rider was seriously injured in an accident involving an SUV in Bukit Barasanon, Jalan Keningau-Sook, here, last night.
A 20-year-old Indonesian man died in the 11.40pm incident.
Keningau Fire and Rescue Station chief Superintendent Sharudy Delamin said four individuals in the SUV, aged 30 to 40, sustained minor injuries.
"The motorcyclist was confirmed dead at the scene by a medical officer from the Health Ministry and the case has been handed over to the police," he said today.
He said the 21-year-old male pillion rider was given initial treatment at the scene, then taken to Keningau Hospital for further treatment.
