"A total of 282 leptospirosis cases have been reported in Kelantan between January and May.

"So far, we have recorded one fatality involving an adult woman from Tumpat district," he said in a statement.

Dr Zaini said Kuala Krai district recorded the highest with 81 cases, followed by Tanah Merah (53) and Kota Baru (33).

The others are Gua Musang (31), Jeli (30), Pasir Mas (14), Tumpat (13), Machang (10), Bachok (9) and Pasir Puteh (7).
