Hazmat team dispatched after chemical leak in Sepang

KUALA LUMPUR: A hazardous materials (Hazmat) team has been dispatched to Sepang after a chemical leak at the Sepang Aircraft Engineering in the Southern Support Zone of KLIA.

The Fire and Rescue Department is still identifying the chemical substance.

Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Muhammad Nur Khairi Samsumin said a distress call was made at around 11.23am today.

"Six personnel from the KLIA Fire and Rescue Department along with the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Department Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) unit immediately went to the scene to investigate.

"Our personnel is in the midsts of identifying the source of the chemical leak" he said.
