Man dies after car crashes into electric pole in Johor

KUALA LUMPUR: A 51-year-old man was killed after his car skidded and crashed into an electric pole in Jalan Mohd Akil, Batu Pahat in Johor this morning.

The victim, identified as Chung Woon Kim, succumbed to severe bodily injuries and died on the spot in the 7.30am accident.

Batu Pahat district police chief Superintendent Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the victim was heading to Jalan Syahbandar from Jalan Bakau Chondong during the accident.

"Upon arriving at the scene, the car, however, skidded and crashed into the electric pole before it landed near a ditch by the roadside," Shahrulanuar said in a statement today.

He also urges the people with information on the accident to visit the nearest police station or call the Johor police contingent's hotline at 07-221 2999 or the Batu Pahat district police headquarters' hotline at 07-434 3999.
