Johor MB makes surprise visit to overcapacity Kulai health clinic

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi made an unannounced visit to the Kulai health clinic to assess its operations.

He noted that the clinic's premises were cramped, with insufficient equipment for the staff.

"The vehicle access to the clinic is very narrow. Parking is limited and disorganised.

"The management and the public have also raised concerns about the condition of facilities such as chairs and fans that are worn out and broken in the waiting area.

"The clinic has a shortage of X-ray and ultrasound machines, too," he said in a Facebook post.

He said the Kulai health clinic receives over 1,000 visitors daily, which is beyond its capacity.

"There is a proposal to construct a new health clinic in Kulai to alleviate the overcapacity.

"Therefore, the government will assist to the fullest extent possible in resolving this issue, and will collaborate closely with the Health Ministry to come up with solutions so that excelletn healthcare services continue throughout Johor," he added.
