Air Selangor says 93.5pc of water supply restored by noon

KUALA LUMPUR: Air Selangor said up to noon today, 93.5 per cent of water supply in areas affected by the odour pollution at Sungai Kundang and Sungai Sembah has been restored.

Air Selangor said users are advised to run the tap until the water turns clear before using it for everyday necessities.

It also urged consumers to use water prudently to facilitate a smooth recovery in areas that are still affected by water cuts.

"We will continue to mobilise water tankers to the affected areas, such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral service centres."

Nine local service centres are also providing water supply to the specified locations.

"Commercial customers can purchase treated water at Air Selangor service counters in Sepang or Hulu Langat. They can use their own water tankers to get water at two filling stations in Braemar Estate, Hulu Langat, and Taman Gemilang Dengkil, Sepang."

It said the amount of time needed to restore water supply depended on the water pressure and the premises' distance from the distribution system.
