KL, Selangor water supply 14.3 per cent restored as of 9am today, says Air Selangor

KUALA LUMPUR: Progress in the restoration of water supply in more than 1,000 areas here and Selangor reached 14.3 per cent as 9am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor), in a statement today, said that the recovery of water supply in these areas is expected to reach about 40 per cent by 8am tomorrow and projected 90 per cent by 8 pm on the same day.

Water supply in the affected areas is expected to fully recover by 8am on Friday.

"The duration of this water disruption and recovery in the affected regions will vary based on consumers' locations and water pressure within the distribution system.

"Consumers are advised not to be alarmed if their water is discoloured after the recovery as it usually happens when the water supply is disconnected due to water disruptions.

"Discolouration in water happens when the water supply is recovered and it stirs the sediments that have settled in the empty main pipe causing them to be suspended in water," the statement said.

Air Selangor has been mobilising water tankers to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres, and funeral service centres.

Consumers can obtain information on this water supply disruption from time to time through Air Selangor's official communication channels https://waterupdates.airselangor.com/ or on their social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and X or call Air Selangor's Call Centre at 15300 or visit https://www.airselangor.com/.
