BUTTERWORTH: A 17-year-old girl has been reported missing after not returning to her home in Bagan Ajam yesterday.
Her brother, Mohammad Nurul Asrul Norulfadli, 23, said Siti Nur Khaireena Zufairi left their house at 5pm yesterday without notifying her family, allegedly with an unknown male friend.
The family became aware of her disappearance after receiving a voice message via WhatsApp.
"The message, from a man using Siti Nur Khaireena's phone, claimed she was with him in Kota Baru, Kelantan," he said.
"By around 9pm, we could still track her location using the phone number, but it was soon blocked."
He added that a missing person report has been filed at the Butterworth police station.
Due to financial constraints, the family has asked relatives in Kelantan to help search for Siti Nur Khaireena at the address provided in the message.
"My relatives have reported that the address is a security-controlled apartment, which makes finding my sister difficult," he said.
"She has not been in school for a while and has no known issues with the family. I urge her to come home as soon as possible."
He also asked anyone who sees her to report to the nearest police station or call 012-3603253.
