KUALA LUMPUR: The World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) has been recognised as the "Best Convention and Exhibition Centre" at the Tourism Industry Awards 2024.
Held at the Royale Chulan Hotel on July 26, the awards were presented by Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin.
WTCKL said in a statement the awards ceremony was jointly organised by Malaysia International Tourism Development Association, Santai travel magazine and Malaysia Fashion Modeling and Pageantry Association.
The awards recognised establishments and individuals who had significantly contributed to the tourism industry.
Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh officiated at the event, which was attended by representatives from the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry and other organisations.
WTCKL group managing director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim said the achievement highlighted its commitment to excellence and global standards in providing exceptional venues and services for events.
"We are determined to continuously innovate and elevate the industry benchmark, ensuring that every event held at WTCKL leaves a lasting impression.
"This award is proof of the hard work and dedication of our team and the unwavering support of our stakeholders," he said.
Meanwhile, WTCKL said the award was expected to further its growth and accelerate its impact on the business event industry, particularly in promoting Muslim-friendly tourism.
