MUAR: "Alhamdulillah, my son has been found safe. I don't know what to say, I feel very touched," said Mohd Effendy Alizuman, 43, father of Muhammad Effzaldanish, who was found safe today.
The Form Two student from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Alauddin Riayat Shah 1, Pagoh, was found behind his grandmother's house at around 10am today.
The only child was discovered by his cousin, Siti Nurhalizah Mohd Asri, 23, after she saw him looking confused.
Mohd Effendy said he was informed of his son's discovery before rushing from Tampin, Negeri Sembilan, to his mother's house in Taman Perumahan Awam, near Pekan Pagoh.
"Once informed of the discovery, I came here immediately before being asked to go to the police station to give a statement.
"I hugged and questioned Muhammad Effzaldanish, but he just remained silent. He seemed confused about what had really happened.
"During his disappearance, I couldn't sleep and my mind was troubled because I was worried about his safety. I feared something bad might happen to him," he said when met today.
Mohd Effendy said he only learned about Muhammad Effzaldanish's disappearance after receiving a message from a teacher informing him that his son did not attend school.
"When I found out he had been found, we were all relieved. Imagine, during the four days of his disappearance since last Sunday, we thought of all sorts of things," he said.
It is understood that Muhammad Effzaldanish was taken to the Pagoh Police Station before being sent to the Muar District Police Headquarters (IPD) and then to Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital here for further examination.
Meanwhile, Muar District police chief, Assistant Commissioner, confirmed the discovery of Muhammad Effzaldanish and said the teenager was in safe condition.
He said Muhammad Effzaldanish was found by a family member and the police thanked everyone who helped in locating the teenager.
Muhammad Effzaldanish was reported missing after failing to return home as usual last Sunday, with his disappearance noticed by his grandmother, Jaminah Shari, 90.
The student was said to have walked to school, located about 200 metres from his grandmother's house.
He had been living with his grandmother since he was three years old after the passing of his biological mother due to cancer, while his father resides in Tampin, Negeri Sembilan with his stepmother.
