PUTRAJAYA: The draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) on allocations for opposition members of Parliament is ready, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
The draft MoU will be handed over to Perikatan Nasional chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.
"If the opposition agrees to the draft MoU, the next step is to form a committee with representatives from both the opposition and the government," Fadillah told reporters after officiating a Car-Free Day programme here.
He was asked about Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's remarks that the government was ready to provide allocations for opposition MPs.
Previously, Anwar said negotiations, must be carried out with all opposition parties simultaneously.
In April, it was reported that the unity government secretariat's top leadership has agreed in principle to consider allocating funds for opposition MPs.
