Two pedestrians hit by car in Alor Star recreational park

ALOR STAR: Two men were injured after they were knocked down by a car in Taman Rimba Recreational Park here on Friday evening.

Kota Setar police chief Assistant Commissioner Siti Nor Salawati Saad the 7.37pm incident occurred when the car collided with another car in Jalan Tunku Bendahara.

"Based on initial investigation, the incident happened when one of the cars was making a right turn into Taman Golf before it was rammed by another car travelling from Wisma Darul Aman direction.

"One of the drivers lost the control of his car due to the impact of the collision before crashing into the two men on the pedestrian lane," she said in a statement.

Salawati said the pedestrians aged 24 and 25 respectively, suffered minor injuries while one the drivers aged 79 suffered chest pain and cut on his left knee.

"They have been rushed to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital's emergency department and all of them are in stable condition.

"Another driver aged 62, did not suffer any injury," she said.
