Kelantan govt denies Azizi's claims of no allocations received

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan government has denied claims by former Nenggiri assemblyman Mohd Azizi Abu Naim that he did not receive any allocation from the state.

Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan stated that allocations for Azizi, as an assemblyman, were provided through various channels, including the land and district office and directly to his service centre.

"When he (Azizi) was in Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), he was a state government assemblyman. So, it is impossible that he did not receive any allocation from the state government.

"Even the Menteri Besar had announced that not only state assemblymen will get the allocation but also the opposition. We have given the allocations to all of them, some through government programmes and some in the form of donations," he said.

He added that the donations were given from time to time and that the state government would inform recipients via letters, WhatsApp groups, and state executive councillor briefings.

"This is normally done at the beginning of the year. Maybe Azizi doesn't know and he doesn't care," he added.

On Aug 5, Azizi claimed that he was denied his rights while serving as the assemblyman, including never receiving any allocation from the state government.

Azizi, who was expelled from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) on June 13, also challenged the Pas leadership to provide evidence that he received allocations, labelling him as greedy.

While challenging them to prove that he was greedy, Azizi also asked Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (PAS deputy president) to show evidence of the allocation Kelantan gave him during his tenure as the assemblyman.

Azizi, who is also the Gua Musang Member of Parliament, said he used his own money every time he met his constituents until he received allocations from the unity government.

He also said the issue of not receiving allocations as an assemblyman had been raised with the Bersatu leadership previously, including with the state chairman Datuk Kamaruddin Md Noor.

It was reported that Tuan Ibrahim had claimed Azizi was greedy and was using the allocation issue to declare support for the unity government under the administration of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He also said all assemblymen in Kelantan had received fair allocations.
