KUALA LUMPUR: Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has challenged Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal to a debate.
The topic of discussion proposed by Rafizi is the impact of money printing on stimulating the economy.
Rafizi described the topic as 'one of the most innovative economic ideas proposed by Perikatan Nasional (PN)'.
"Although hosting a live debate involves significant costs, I am willing to participate in discussions with Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), Astro, and others to benefit Malaysia's economy," Rafizi tweeted yesterday.
Rafizi, also the MP for Pandan, issued this invitation in response to the Bersatu Armada chief's comments on social media.
He had suggested that Rafizi's previous invitation was for a podcast rather than a live debate.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal, in his social media response, also challenged the government to debate issues concerning Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), and BlackRock.
Last year, Rafizi engaged in a debate with Bachok MP Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman, who questioned why Kelantan remains one of the poorest states, alleging federal neglect.
Rafizi argued that while Kelantan receives substantial federal funding compared to some other states, its continued poverty is due to inefficient administration.
