KUALA LANGAT: The Jelajah Gagasan Rumpun Selangor programme is a product which the state can be proud of, as it enables the people to engage directly with the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
State Rural and Village Development, Unity and Consumer Committee chairman, Datuk Rizam Ismail, said the sixth edition of the programme, which took place in Kuala Langat recently, met with excellent response from the public.
"We saw a great response from the people, with Tuanku himself going down to the ground to meet the rakyat. The programme also enables the people to connect with Tuanku directly, and even take pictures with him.
"Tuanku also shared his ideas throughout the programme. At the same time, we were able to experience the cultures in each of Selangor's nine districts," he said.
Rizam said the programme in Kuala Langat saw Tengku Amir Shah have breakfast with the people, visit numerous locations including small and medium enterprises as well as observe a host of projects, such as chilli farms.
Tengku Amir Shah, he said, also consented to a friendly badminton match, partnering Malaysian badminton legend Datuk Misbun Sidek.
"The people were touched by Tuanku's friendliness. They are immensely proud to have a leader who prioritises the people."
