GOMBAK: A resident of an apartment in Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang claims that it had been a long time since she saw glimpses of the girl, who died as a result of suspected abuse, playing around the apartment with other children.
The woman, who declined to be identified, said the eight-year-old was usually seen playing in front of the house with her younger siblings and other children.
"It's been a long time since I saw her playing outside. She usually plays in front of the house with her younger siblings and other children," she said when met at the apartment compound today.
According to the woman, the victim's family moved into the apartment in the area a year ago.
Meanwhile, another resident, who also declined to be identified, said: "These people (parents) are not arrogant… Since moving here, we have never heard of any arguments. Children here often go to their apartment to buy ice cream," she said.
Earlier Bernama reported that a girl died, believed to have been abused in an apartment near Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang yesterday.
Following that, the police detained the child's stepfather and biological mother for further investigations after the examination found that there were bruises on the victim's face, hands, legs and body, believed to have been injured by hands or feet, belts, clothes hangers and blunt weapons.
