KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist was struck by a stray tyre from a lorry on Jalan Syed Putra yesterday.
Earlier, a viral video shared on the Facebook page VideoViral Dashcam showed a large tyre bouncing through roadside shrubbery and hitting the motorcyclist, causing the rider to be flung onto the road.
A car travelling behind the motorcyclist was also struck by the tyre before swerving to avoid the fallen rider.
According to a statement by Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa, the incident occurred on Jalan Syed Putra, from Pusat Bandar heading towards Jalan Kelang Lama, at 11.46am yesterday.
Zamzuri added that the 55-year-old motorcyclist sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the car was unharmed.
The case is currently classified under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
