Ex-bodyguard trades stern look for smiles in new career [WATCH]

SEREMBAN: Up until six months ago, one of Azrul Azwan Anuar's main "tools" for his job was his stern look.

As a bodyguard, this went well with his muscled frame and no-nonsense demeanour.

These days, the 39-year-old is all smiles and a much happier person in his new career, making cartoon pancakes for children.

"After I decided to stop working as a bodyguard and start selling cartoon pancakes, I feel more relaxed because I now work on my own schedule," said Azrul who worked as a bodyguard for five years.

"Before this, I needed to go everywhere and always be in a state of readiness. Nowadays, instead of serving famous people, I entertain children."

Azrul said he began exploring making cartoon pancakes after watching a video of it on TikTok.

"I reached out to the pancake seller (in the TikTok video) and took a week to learn how to make 34 different cartoon pancakes.

"These include Hello Kitty, Spiderman, Minions and Pikachu," he said, adding he is also able to make other cartoon characters.

Azrul sells his pancakes near Warisan Puteri daily between 11am and 6.30pm.

His cartoon pancakes go for RM10 a piece and he usually sells between 20 to 30 pancakes a day.
