PONTIAN: A 33-year-old man was killed while seven were injured in a four-vehicle collision at Batu 26, in Pekan Nenas, here, early this morning.
Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohd Nazri Ahmad Shahidon said the 1.30am accident was believed to have been caused after a BMW with two occupants lost control and crashed into a Proton Saga, Perodua Kelisa and Perodua Alza at a junction here.
The driver of the Perodua Kelisa was killed while his passenger, a 32-year-old woman was injured.
Another woman, 40, in the Perodua Alza was also injured.
Two men and a woman aged between 19 and 25 who were in the Proton Saga sustained minor injuries.
The condition of the BMW driver and a passenger was not available at press time.
Mohd Nazri said the Kelisa driver was trapped in the car and had to be extricated. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The remaining victims were rushed to the Pontian Hospital for treatment.
