KUALA LUMPUR: Personnel from the Minerals and Geosciences Department were sighted scanning Jalan Masjid India.

Several personnel clad in blue vests, were seen operating a four-wheeled ground penetrating radar device at around 3.15pm today from the initial sinkhole which formed last Friday toward the second sinkhole site.

One person was operating the device while another was seen taking notes on a piece of paper.

Two others were also seen walking together with their colleagues.

About half an hour later, Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia B.N. Reddy also visited Masjid India.

He was seen accompanied by Dang Wangi deputy police chief Superintendent Nuzulan Mohd Din visiting the site where Indian tourist G. Vijaya Lakshimi was swallowed by the sinkhole last friday.

Earlier today, Kuala Lumpur City Hall said GPR scans would be conducted by the Minerals and Geoscience Department as the search and rescue operations for the tourist swallowed by a sinkhole at Jalan Masjid India entered its seventh day.

It added that the search team's priority was to find the victim as soon as possible.

On Aug 23, Vijaya Lakshimi, 48, went missing after falling into an 8m sinkhole in Jalan Masjid India while walking along the road.
