KOTA KINABALU: Two people were burned to death after the car they were travelling in was involved in a three-car accident in Jalan Kepayan, near Kota Kinabalu International Airport here early today.
The identities of the two victims who were traveling in the Perodua Axia, which was completely destroyed by fire in the 2am accident, have not yet been confirmed.
District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Ordine Gilu said a team was deployed to the scene after being alerted to the accident at 2.30am.
"Upon arrival, the team found the Perodua Axia engulfed in flames due to a three-vehicle collision.
"The other vehicles involved in the accident were a Perodua Viva and a four-wheel-drive vehicle," he said when contacted today.
Ordine said the 34-year-old male driver of the Perodua Viva and the 22-year-old driver of the Toyota Hilux sustained minor injuries.
