SERI ALAM: A 23-year-old licensed boatman of a shipping logistics company has gone missing since Aug 16 after leaving the Johor Port Marine Building here.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said here today that the missing person, identified as Azrul Danniel Noridan, was last seen leaving the port building about midnight on a borrowed motorcycle.
He was going out to buy supper, and that was the last time his colleagues and family members heard from him.
His sister later lodged a missing persons report after failing to locate him.
According to a friend, Azrul was a crew member of a logistics company engaged by the port management.
The port management had outsourced the job of moving cargo from arriving merchant ships to Azrul's company, and he was hired as a licensed boatman in charge of docking the vessels.
It is learnt that the authorities and family members had contacted hospitals and conducted a search along the Pasir Gudang Highway and the port's vicinity.
