Hiker injured at Bukit Janggut rescued

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department came to the aid of an injured woman at Bukit Janggut in Sepanggar, today.

The 31-year-old woman sustained injuries to her knee and ankle while hiking for recreation around 7.30am.

Assistant Fire superintendent Riki Mohan Singh Ramday said they were alerted to the situation at 8am.

A team was immediately dispatched to the location, which was 20km from the station.

"Upon arrival at the scene, the fire team provided medical treatment to the victim, who was then brought down in a stretcher by the rescue team," he said when contacted today.

He added that the victim was sent to a hospital for further treatment.
