KUALA LUMPUR: Issues related to GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd will be brought before the National Committee on Islamic Religious Affairs Malaysia (MKI).
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said the matter would be referred to the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) to address issues concerning faith.
He added that a special committee would also be established to conduct a thorough investigation and study of GISB's doctrines to eradicate deviant teachings.
Na'im said the committee would be supervised by his office, which would support the authorities, including the MKI, with data and research.
"The Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) will also assist in providing shelters for children and adolescents rescued during Op Global, as well as offer counselling and advisory services to the victims.
"Jakim has also been instructed to fully cooperate with the police in the investigation, and we fully support the remand of 171 individuals recently detained in Op Global.
"The Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) will not compromise on issues related to the Islamic faith," he said in a statement today.
Earlier, it was reported that the 402 children who were rescued from 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negri Sembilan were separated from their parents from as young as two years old.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the children were allegedly third and fourth-generation GISB members.
"Based on our intelligence some of their parents left their children behind and are now abroad. Some parents have been in Saudi Arabia for six years while others are currently in Turkiye," he said.
On Sept 11, police rescued 402 children from 20 homes connected to GISB during a raid, leading to 171 arrests.
It was reported that police investigations into some of the welfare homes raided earlier have led to claims of sodomy and abuse against the children.
Based on intelligence gathered, police found that some victims were sodomised by their caregivers.
Police also received information that they were taught the act of sodomy and forced to sodomise other children in the homes.
GISB has since denied the allegations and threatened legal action against those who defame the company.
