KUALA LUMPUR: Social media personality Khairul Aming touched the hearts of Malaysians with a video and heartfelt message celebrating the nation's unity ahead of Malaysia Day.

The spirit of harmony was on full display at the Keretapi Sarong 2024 event, where attendees wore traditional attire from various cultures.

Khairul made a special appearance, leading the Rukun Negara pledge alongside thousands of participants.

The 2-minute 29-second video, edited by the content creator known for his cooking videos, has garnered over 38,000 likes and 511 comments on TikTok.

Khairul, whose real name is Khairul Amin Kamarulzaman, shared how he was moved to tears while editing the video, feeling fortunate to be born in a harmonious Malaysia.

"Don't let anyone break the unity of our country. Together, we must preserve and take pride in our homeland," he wrote in the caption.

In the video, Khairul encouraged Malaysians to protect the nation's harmony, saying, "In the end, we are the ones who will take care of each other."

"Today, we all boarded the train, smiled, sweated, and sang together. Malaysia is rich with religion, culture, and ethnicity, making it truly unique," he said, adding that while misunderstandings might arise, it was crucial to work together to maintain peace.

Originally from Kota Baru, Khairul urged Malaysians not to jeopardise unity over trivial matters.

He said that true unity required collective effort, not just the work of a few.

"Our country isn't perfect — there's always something in the news — but let's not forget to be grateful for the blessings we have. Malaysia is blessed with fertile land, beautiful nature, kind people, and peace... so let's not let small disagreements divide us," he added.
