SUNGAI PETANI: A 34-year-old man sustained severe head injuries after an uprooted tree crushed his house on Jalan Kampung Nyior, Bukit Selambau near here early this morning.
Amanjaya Fire and Rescue Station chief Azahari Abdullah said a rescue team was deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call on the incident at 1.18am.
Upon arrival, Azhari said the team found the uprooted tree had fallen onto the house, injuring the man.
"Our team immediately worked to extract the victim from the house before medical personnel from the Health Ministry administered first aid at the scene," he said in a statement today.
Azahari added the victim was later rushed to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital for further treatment.
