TAIPING: Four people were injured after a tree fell on their vehicles during a storm which was accompanied by strong winds on Jalan Kamunting, Taman Glen View, here today.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said they received a distress call at 12.53pm, and a team of firemen from Kamunting was dispatched to the scene.
Sabarodzi said the victims were riding a Yamaha motorcycle and a Perodua Alza car in the 12.50pm incident.
"The two victims who sustained severe injuries were riding the motorcycle. Both victims, believed to be a father and his daughter were unconscious," he said.
Sabarodzi said there were five people traveling in the Perodua Alza car, and two of them suffered light injuries.
"All the victims were taken to Taiping Hospital for further treatment," he said adding that the cleaning up works were still ongoing.
