GISB runs multiple restaurants, supermarkets worldwide

KUALA LUMPUR: Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) operates multiple restaurant and supermarket chains in several countries, including Saudi Arabia and Australia.

According to GISB's website, the company runs 12 restaurant chains domestically and internationally.

These include Ikhwan Delights in Sungai Penchala, GH Corner restaurants in Jakarta and Cairo, Nur Muhammad Cafe in Sydney, as well as Nur Malaysia restaurants in Makkah, Dubai, Paris, London, Amman and the Uzbek capital Tashkent.

Other outlets include Love & Care Restaurant in Bangkok and Mihrimah Restaurant in Singapore.

Yesterday, it was reported that 19 people linked to GISB, including its chief executive officer and his wife, have been remanded for seven days.

Last week, the Federal Criminal Investigation Department raided 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negri Sembilan connected to the firm, rescuing 402 children and teenagers — 201 boys and 201 girls — aged between 1 and 17.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain had said that health screenings conducted on 392 children rescued from the homes revealed evidence of physical and emotional abuse.

The children were also suspected of being exploited for labour by being forced to sell goods.

GISB has denied the allegations of child exploitation and sexual abuse.
