SEREMBAN: A woman narrowly escaped death when the car she was driving caught fire after being crushed by a concrete block that fell from a trailer along Jalan Mambau, Seremban 2, yesterday.
Senior Operations Commander Ahmad Khomeini Kamarudzaman said a team of firefighters arrived at the scene at around 7.30am and found the car completely destroyed.
He said the 31-year-old woman sustained minor injuries after being rescued by the lorry driver, who stopped immediately upon realising his load had fallen.
"The accident involved a trailer carrying concrete drain blocks, one of which fell and hit two cars. One of the vehicles was completely destroyed by fire.
"The second car, a Perodua Axia, only suffered damage to its side, and the 30-year-old female driver was unhurt," he said in a statement yesterday.
He added that the 68-year-old male trailer driver was also unharmed.-- BERNAMA
