KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Islamic Development Department's (Jakim) report on GISB Holdings will include evidence in the form of items seized from police raids on properties linked to the company.
It was previously reported that the police have seized items including books and "blessed items" such as tissues, cloth fragments and hair belonging to the group's leaders.
In a statement today, Jakim director-general Datuk Hakimah Mohd Yusoff said the report will be presented to the National Committee on Islamic Religious Affairs Malaysia (MKI).
The MKI will meet from Sept 24 to Sept 26.
Hakimah said the top religious meeting is expected to decide on the status of GISBH's doctrine.
"The MKI's decision on GISBH's doctrine will guide state religious authorities in issuing fatwas to enable the prosecution process against the teachings of the group to be brought to the Syariah Court," he said.
Earlier this week, Perlis became the first state to issue a fatwa against GISBH's beliefs and teachings. Terengganu has said it would soon follow in Perlis' steps.
GISBH is now the focus of a police investigation after raids were conducted on 20 welfare homes allegedly linked to the group last week. The raids saw 402 people, some as young as 1-year-old, rescued.
Police said the victims had endured various forms of exploitation and abuse, including being sodomised.
GISBH has since denied the allegations of child exploitation and sexual abuse.
