KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged members and supporters of Global Ikhwan Services and Business (GISB) Holdings Sdn Bhd who are not under investigation to contact the authorities.
"We urge members and supporters, both locally and abroad, who are not under investigation to contact the authorities to resolve any issues they may be facing.
"The government continues to ensure that police investigation related to the company's activities is being conducted transparently," he said in a statement.
He said this includes ensuring that 542 children aged under 18 placed at the temporary protection centres, are given access to welfare, counselling, spiritual guidance, and education for a certain period until the investigation by the police, the state Islamic religious department and council; and the Welfare Department is completed.
Police have received 10 reports of forced labour exploitation involving GISB.
The victims, aged between 14 and their early 20s, came forward after a public appeal.
GISB has been under investigation since police raids on Sept 11 at 20 welfare homes allegedly operated by the organisation, which led to the rescue of 402 children.
It was later revealed that many of the children had suffered physical and emotional abuse, with 13 reportedly victims of sexual assault, including sodomy.
GISB has denied all allegations of child exploitation and abuse.
