Motorcyclist killed in NSE crash after Sedenak toll exit

KULAI: A 46-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he crashed into two parked vehicles by the roadside at Km41 of the southbound lane of the North-South Expressway after exiting the Sedenak toll plaza, here, yesterday.

District police chief Superintendent Tan Seng Lee said the motorcyclist took the far-left lane after exiting the toll plaza in the 6.10pm incident.

He, however, did not notice the parked vehicles by the road shoulder and rear-ended them, causing him to lose control before crashing into another parked vehicle.

He sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two motorists were unharmed.

Meanwhile, Fire and Rescue Department senior officer Awang Ismail Awang Hanafi said seven personnel were deployed to the scene, following the 6.24pm emergency call.

The motorcyclist identified as Mohamad Zuraidi Jamadi, was found trapped beneath one of the vehicles.

The body was transported to the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital for a post-mortem.
