Not all 'Ikhwan' restaurants linked to GISBH, owner says after 'blessed water' claims

SEREMBAN: A restaurant owner in Seremban 2 has denied any link to Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holdings (GISBH) despite previously displaying the company's logo and the name 'Ikhwan' on their business.

It follows a Facebook claim alleging that establishments using the 'Ikhwan' name were "using blessed water" to attract customers, Sinar Harian reported.

In response, the owner posted four copies of a police report on the restaurant's door to clarify the situation and has since removed the GISBH logo and 'Ikhwan' name from the premises.

The owner said that Ikhwan-branded establishments have different owners and their restaurant is not connected to GISBH, saying, "The public assumes all shops named Ikhwan are the same, but we deny any connection."

The restaurant has reportedly been closed since last week. Other businesses previously operating there included a grocery store, cendol shop, bakery, and a traditional kueh stall.

On Sept 11, police rescued 402 children, aged one to 17, from 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negri Sembilan during Op Global, resulting in 171 arrests, including caretakers, religious teachers, and premises chairpersons.

The following day, GISBH denied all allegations and threatened legal action against those who "defame the company."

On Sept 19, GISBH's CEO, his wife, and several top management members were arrested in a raid at a Bukit Bintang complex. As of Sept 21, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed 200 arrests linked to the organisation.
