MANJUNG: A man died in a house fire at Taman Muhibbah 2, Sitiawan, here early today while seven others escaped unscathed.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said firemen from the Sitiawan and Seri Manjung stations were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 2.44am.
"The fire involved a single-storey terrace house which was 60 per cent destroyed by the fire.
"One male victim was found burned to death in the living room, while seven other victims survived without any injuries.
"The fire was successfully extinguished, and the victim's body was handed over to the police for further action," he said.
He added the body was taken to the Seri Manjung Hospital and the operation ended at 5.16am.
