KUALA LUMPUR: Twelve-year-old Izz Imil has become the youngest student to enrol at Universiti Malaya, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the Faculty of Science.
Universiti Malaya Vice-Chancellor Professor Datuk Seri Ir Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman said Izz Imil was admitted after successfully passing an interview conducted by a special committee established by the university.
His admission was later approved by the University Senate.
"Due to Izz Imil's young age, we kindly request that all parties respect his privacy and allow him the space to adapt to university life.
"This is essential to ensure he has a conducive learning environment as he continues his academic journey," Noor Azuan said in a statement.
Izz's remarkable achievement was first shared on Facebook and quickly went viral.
It garnered attention from the public, with many expressing admiration for the child's exceptional brilliance.
