DBKL yet to receive orders to close GISB premises

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has announced that it has not received any orders to close premises owned by Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holdings (GISB) within the city.

City Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif said DBKL would fully cooperate if there were instructed to do so by relevant authorities.

"We have not received any orders yet, and as of now, the matter is under police investigation. "If we receive any orders or decisions from higher authorities, we will cooperate," she told a press conference following the 55th Enforcement Day celebration, here.

Previously, the Selangor government reportedly took action by ordering all GISB premises in the state to close with immediate effect and seizing all of the company's assets.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari reportedly said he would disclose the total number of premises, including shelters and religious schools affiliated with GISB in the state.
